Mohamed El Sayed Anwar is a 22-year-old boy who was recently treated for cancer. After a difficult period he is now cured and Mohamed knows that there is nothing he would like more than help young people in the same situation he was in to get better. Because studying is very expensive and Egypt does not have a study financing system, he is unable to get the education he needs. Fortunately he came into contact with the Heliopolis University. The Heliopolis University is derived from the SEKEM initiative. SEKEM invests in education, healthcare and culture and provides several study programs, including Pharmacy. They offer less well-off students the chance to study on the basis of donations. We have been working closely with Sekem for years now and by virtue of our mission we look for a nice (international) initiative that we can support each year.
This year we chose to make a financial contribution to the Heliopolis University, which will enable Mohamed to start his Pharmacy studies. We obviously wish him the best of luck with it!
